I have a printed table/list of the year of manufacture marks. This list begins with Year 1945 and Mark I and ends with Year 2001 and Mark BP. My Beretta SxS is Marked XX which the table tells me it was manufactured in 1964. The mark is on the barrel flat directly under the serial number. Do you have a mark under your serial number? The serial number listings by month presented below were developed by Scott Duff, a recognized authority on and author of a series of books on the M1 Garand. The following information can be found in the books 'The M1 Garand: WWII' and 'The M1 Garand Serial Numbers and Data Sheets' found at Fulton Armory, and are used here with Mr. Duff's permission.

I have two Beretta shotguns, one of the serial numbers begins with the letter M and ends with the letter E, the other begins with N and ends with E, am I right to assume that the first one was made in 1984 and the other in 1985? Beretta date codes Italian guns are easily dated by a code - not in the serial numbers but next to the proof mark. Here's the list - and apologies for a rather long post.
